Rick Collins to Present at Upcoming SWIS and NSCA Conferences

Rick to Address Legal Issues for Trainers and Fitness Professionals

14589957_10154505362125119_6641695369779921049_oRick Collins will be addressing the broad topic of what fitness professionals need to know about the law at two upcoming industry conferences – where he will be sharing insight into some of today’s most critical issues for today’s personal trainers and strength/conditioning professionals. The two conferences will provide Rick with the opportunity to meet with hundreds of industry leaders. In addition, Rick will participate in an unprecedented panel on drugs in sports.

Rick, a former competitive bodybuilder, fitness trainer and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, will be traveling to Toronto, Canada to once again present at the Society of Weight-Training Injury Specialists (SWIS) Annual Symposium being held October 13th – 15th. At SWIS, he will be presenting an overview of legal issues for the fitness industry to hundreds of expected attendees at the conference, including personal trainers, chiropractors, massage therapists, nutritionists, strength and conditioning coaches, powerlifters, bodybuilders, gym owners, industry thought leaders, and key industry influencers. The Society of Weight-Training Injury Specialists is focused on the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of weight-training injuries – with last year’s 2015 Symposium attended by more than 600 people. Rick’s 2015 SWIS presentation was attended by many at the Symposium, including World Champion powerlifter and strongman Bill Kazmaier — who is one of the strongest men who ever lived. Following his presentation, Rick will participate in a blockbuster panel discussion of drugs in sports, featuring numerous experts and those with “real world” knowledge including Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson and chemist Patrick Arnold.

After the SWIS 2016 Symposium in Toronto, Rick will be headed to Jacksonville, Florida – where he will be a featured speaker at the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) 2016 Annual Personal Trainers Conference.   Speaking on the topic of “Nutritional Law for Fitness Professionals”, Rick will be providing attendees with important information about dietary supplements and PEDs that personal trainers need to be aware of, and will be meeting with fitness professionals and trainers to answer any questions regarding this complex and changing area of the law. The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is a nonprofit professional organization dedicated to advancing the strength and conditioning profession around the world – by supporting strength and conditioning professionals devoted to helping others discover and maximize their strengths, and disseminating research-based knowledge and its practical application by offering industry-leading certifications, research journals, career development services, and continuing education opportunities. The NSCA community is composed of more than 45,000 members and certified professionals who further industry standards as researchers, educators, strength coaches, personal trainers, and other roles in related fields. Rick is certified by the NSCA as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®).
